ensure equitable and effective care. By addressing systemic barriers and focusing on prevention,
mental health, and access, significant improvements in health outcomes can be achieved.
Key Health Challenges

• Chronic Conditions: Higher prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular
  diseases.
• Mental Health Disparities: Stigma and lack of culturally competent mental health
  services hinder care.
• Access to Healthcare: Systemic racism and economic inequities limit access to quality
  healthcare services.
• Underrepresentation: Low representation of Afro-Canadians in healthcare professions
  impacts trust and quality of care.
  Strategies for Improvement

1. Preventative Care
